Accreditation Canada’s Diagnostic Imaging standards were requested by health service organizations, regulators, and governments who needed a national, integrated approach to diagnostic imaging for technologists, clinicians, and other members of interdisciplinary diagnostic imagining teams.
The standards are a way to assess and evaluate diagnostic imaging activities such as anticipating, planning, providing, and evaluating service to populations who need to diagnose and monitor a condition through the use of electronic or other images.
These standards contain the following subsections:
Meeting the needs of clients and service providers
Having the right people
Providing a suitable environment
Operating and maintaining diagnostic equipment
Providing safe and appropriate diagnostic services
Keeping records accurate, up-to-date, and secure
Monitoring quality and achieving positive outcomes
