    Accreditation Canada's Child and Youth Populations Standards are for organizations with regional programs that organize and coordinate services to meet the needs of children, youth, and their families. Children and youth are defined as those people from 28 days to 17 years of age.

    Accreditation Canada's child and youth population standards focus on:

    • healthy living
    • health promotion and disease prevention
    • identification of at-risk client groups and early interventions for those at risk
    • integration and coordination across the system, including social services and community organizations

    These standards contain the following subsections:

    • Investing in services for child and youth populations
    • Partnering with the community to promote health and wellness
    • Integrating and coordinating services
    • Basing decisions on research and evidence
    • Using information and information technology
    • Monitoring quality and achieving positive outcomes
