Accreditation Canada’s Qmentum standards make it possible for health service organizations, large and small, to embed practical and effective quality improvement and patient safety initiatives into their daily operations. These comprehensive health services standards ensure a thorough assessment of all aspects of an organization’s operations, from the board, to management, to staff and services, to patients and clients. By identifying strengths as well as opportunities for improvement, Qmentum helps health service organizations provide high-quality services.
System-wide areas assessed during accreditation include governance, leadership and management, infection prevention and control, and medication management, while population-specific and service excellence standards address specific sectors, services, conditions, and populations.
To obtain a full range of the standards for which an organization would be assessed, you may want to order standards from within the system-wide sets as well as those pertaining to the specific service sector. For example: An Emergency Medical Services organization would be assessed for Governance (to assess the board of directors) plus Leadership (to assess the administrative and management roles) plus Emergency Medical Service (to assess the specific service).
Standards are regularly updated. If you are not sure which standards to purchase, or whether you require an updated set, please send an e-mail to Nancy Viljean at LearnMore@accreditation.ca.
