    The accreditation journey

Accreditation is one of the most effective ways for health and social service organizations to improve the quality of their services, and to demonstrate that they meet or exceed national standards of excellence. It is an ongoing journey that uses a team approach to assess the organization’s programs and services against standards specific to the care delivered. Education is an important part of this journey, helping to prepare an organization for the process. Accreditation Canada offers a number of education sessions and workshops related to accreditation and quality improvement. In addition, surveyors provide organizations with invaluable advice regarding care and services during the peer survey.

    Why choose Accreditation Canada

We offer a holistic standards framework that addresses all aspects of an organization’s operations. Our Aboriginal health services standards for Addiction Services and Community Health Services are culturally relevant, having been developed by Aboriginal representatives for Aboriginal communities. Our surveyor teams are composed of peers with experience working in Aboriginal communities who are willing to share their experiences to help other communities. Accreditation Canada has been accrediting Aboriginal health services since 1999.
